Buy, Sell, or Hold – FPL Gameweek 17

Player to Buy – Marcus Rashford (£8.9m)

What can you say about Marcus Rashford? The last few weeks have been truly season changing for the United goal scorer. He is in great form right now and shows no signs of slowing down.

7 goals and 3 assists since GW9 for Marcus Rashford

Rashford has already collected 10 goals and 5 assists and has contributed a goal or assist in his last 8 games. That equates to FPL gold right now!

He’s certainly a must buy for all FPL managers during this period. His ownership is currently at 23% and with Everton (H), Watford (A), and Newcastle (H) up next, I definitely see more production coming.

The Reds have turned things around since the start of the season and are tied in 5th position. Much of this success is due to Rashford’s play.

The latest debate has been between Rashford and Ronaldo, during his time at United. The stats are quite fascinating. See for yourself.

Player to Sell – Christian Pulisic (£7.4m)

Chelsea FC v Lille OSC: Group H - UEFA Champions League : News Photo

Christian Pulisic is on this list, but you could probably add a few players on Chelsea to this section as recent performances have been highly questionable. A victory over Lille in the Champions League this week won’t change my opinion considering how poor Lille were on Tuesday.

Chelsea, as a whole, have been less dominating, and they look hesitant. From an FPL point of view, it seems like The Blues might be in a bit of a slump.

The last 4 GW’s are a clear indicator of this, with the squad having only scored 4 goals and their only victory was against Aston Villa at home. Apart from that, losses to Man City, West Ham, and Everton have shown that something isn’t quite right.

Last 4 GW’s have been difficult for Pulisic

Pulisic has returned a measly 8 points over the past 4 games – something managers can only be frustrated about, especially considering the American’s returns before this.

I think FPL managers have better in-form options in the midfield, like James Maddison (£7.8m), Richarlison (£7.8m) , or a budget option like Jack Grealish (£6.1m).

Player to Hold – Raúl Jiménez (£7.5m)

Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League : News Photo

Raul Jimenez is currently the second most transferred out FPL player this week and all I can say is, WHY!?

The man is one of a few in-form strikers in FPL as Wolves have been playing fantastic football. The team hasn’t lost in the league since mid-September and have been able to stay in the top half of the table even with Europa League fixtures mid-week and a relatively small squad.

Jimenez is capable of scoring against all EPL teams and to let him go when he’s already scored 6 and assisted 4 is madness in my opinion.

Wolves have a few tough games coming up, but as we’ve seen all year, the top EPL teams are very leaky at the back and all are struggling for clean sheets.

Next 7 games for Wolves look intriguing

Even with Spurs, City, and Liverpool coming up, I have complete confidence in Jimenez and Wolves to score goals. At £7.5m, Raul is still reasonably priced and owned by less than 20% of managers.

I strongly suggest to hold Jimenez until we see signs of him actually slowing down but currently, there’s not a great deal of evidence to suggest he will.
