In the latest of our weekly series, we’ll be bringing you the important news from every Premier League press conference that impacts your Fantasy Premier League team selection for Gameweek 6

As usual, feel free to give myself (FPL Connect) or our contributor (FPL Aussie) a tweet if you find there are any problems with this article.

All the best for Gameweek 6 everyone – let’s do this!

Manolo Gabbiadini is the only fresh injury concern for Southampton ahead of their game against Liverpool;

“Our main concern is Manolo, who unfortunately pulled up in training today. It looks like he has an issue with his lower hamstring behind the knee.”

Danny Ings is ineligible due to being on loan from Liverpool.

There are no new injuries for Cardiff ahead of their clash against the reigning champions.

Mendez-Laing and Josh Murphy remain out for the bluebirds with long term injuries.

Harry Arter is available to play after recovering from his injury.

Warnock however, confirms Aaron Gunnarsson has suffered an injury setback;

“Aron picked another knock up in midweek. A couple of the lads clashed so we’ve got a couple of lads with knocks and we’ll have to wait and see about them. I don’t know the extent of them.”

Dele Alli has returned to full training, after recovering from a hamstring injury;

“We still we need to wait until tomorrow to assess whether he will be part of the squad. Maybe we need to wait a few days more to involve him.”

Hugo Lloris remains sidelined with a thigh injury, and is hoping to be fit to face Huddersfield;

“It is a point that we still do not know. We hope [he will be playing] as soon as possible, but we think next week if everything goes to plan in training.”

Sean Dyche confirms that Steven Defour and Robbie Brady are playing in a behind-closed-doors game at Barnfield today. He says that neither player will be involved with the first team this weekend.

Ben Gibson has undergone a successful hernia operation but will be ruled out for a few weeks.

Apart from that, there are no other new injury concerns for Burnley.

Either of Johnny Evans or Çağlar Söyüncü are expected to replace the suspended Morgan this weekend;

“They are in good fitness and I will take a decision. I am happy with the work of both. I think Jonny deserves to play, he is a very experienced player.”

Maty James remains sidelined after surgery;

“Just Matty James isn’t match fit, but all other players are available. [James] is resting after his surgery and we will see, step-by-step, when he can come back.”

Puel may consider resting Harry Maguire on Saturday;

“Harry has played a lot of games, but I will analyse it,”

The only player still out with injury is Pascal Groß. Florin Andone played 45 minutes for the u-23’s, whilst Jose Izquierdo is back in training;

“The only one still out is Pascal [Groß]. The good news is that the other players have trained. [Florin] Andone has played 45 minutes [for under-23s v West Ham United], and [Jose] Izquierdo is training at the moment. We have no other injuries.”

Brighton have no other team injuries.

Unfortunately for Fulham, Cairney, Kebano and defender Tim Ream are not available to play this weekend. In positive news, Tim Ream has started training with the team;

“Tom Cairney and Neeskens Kebano aren’t available for the game. Tim Ream is not ready yet, but he has started working with us, which is great news for the team and supporters.”

On the progress of Kevin de Bruyne;

“I don’t know about Kevin, I spoke with the doctors and he is telling me it’s going good and well but I don’t know. We will see. Important that when he returns to pitch he is fully fit.”

Gerard Deulofeu is not available this game week, however hopes to play next weekend;

“Gerard is training but not with the team. I think after one test on Saturday we’ll see if it is possible the next week [for him] to train with us. At this moment he’s not ready.”

Javi Gracia sung praise on Abdoulaye Doucouré, feeling an increase in performance, perhaps because Nathaniel Chalobah is pushing for a start;

“Doucouré only needs to score one goal or two goals to confirm all the work he is doing because he is playing very well, working a lot. In the second half [against United], he covered long distances, he creates many chances and he pushed the team. He played really well. He’s keeping a very good level and if he scores in the next game, he will get more recognition.”

Charlie Daniels and Kyle Taylor remain doubts for this weekend, with the pair suffering from respective injuries. Apart from them, the team is in good shape;

“Charlie Daniels is still a doubt and Kyle Taylor looks like he’s picked up a calf problem. Apart from that, we’re pretty good.”

Junior Stanislas could be back this weekend, after playing 60 minutes midweek;

“He’s had a long time out of action, but it didn’t look like that when he played earlier this week. He did well, was really good with the ball and contributed to an excellent performance. It was really good to see and you’ll have to wait and see if he features.”

Pellegrini is hopeful that Marko Arnautovic will recover from a knock in time to play this weekend;

“Marko finished with a problem behind his knee against Everton. He’s having some treatment and we will see if he can be fit for Sunday.”

Jack Wilshere still remains out with an ankle injury;

“The doctor can say more than me about what has happened with Jack. We will see how many weeks it takes him to recover.”

Lanzini, Reid and Carroll are out with long term injuries, whilst Chicharito Hernandez remains sidelined with a virus.

Defender Erik Durm is ready to play this weekend;

“Erik Durm is ready; he got a knock on his back last weekend, but he trained with us from Tuesday all week. Fitness wise he’s ready, he’s shown the quality he has and he’s in full contention.”

Apart from Ramadan Sobhi, everyone is fit and healthy;

“Everyone is healthy apart from Ramadan Sobhi. We have a real intensity in training; you can see it and you can sometimes hear it! We have the hope that Ramadan is back in training before the next international break.”

Crystal Palace:

Christian Benteke is the only player confirmed to be on the sidelines for Crystal Palace;

“We are still without Christian, he is still nursing the knee injury and having treatment for it. But otherwise we have a clean bill of health, which is fantastic.”

Everton will be without defenders Jagielka and Coleman, as well as midfielder Andre Gomes this weekend.

Yerry Mina looks like returning this week against Arsenal;

“Yerry Mina has had a full week working with the team. He is getting better every day.”

Dejan Lovren moves ever closer to returning to the match day squad;

“Dejan is close. He looks really fit; he did a lactate test last week and fitness-wise he is on a really OK level for his situation – rather good than average. That is good and good work from the fitness department. We will see. He is not in the squad for the weekend of course but we will see how soon we can try to involve him again.”

Another one that is getting closer, is Adam Lallana;

“Adam gets closer and closer. He is still doing his rehab work out on the pitch and all that stuff, so he is not too far away from the team for sure.”

Klopp confirms that Bobby Firmino is fine to start this weekend, and when asked if him and Daniel Sturridge could start together, he responded with the following;

“Could Bobby and Sturridge play together? Yes, of course.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has reached a milestone in his rehabilitation from a long-term injury this week by passing a ball for the first time since picking up multiple knee ligament damage against AS Roma in April.

Klopp says Mo Salah has been “outstanding” in his last two games defensively;

“It’s completely normal for an offensive player that you have times when you’re not scoring. He’s in a good shape. Finishing is something you never can take for granted. He is just taking his time this year, just like he did last season.”

Man United:

Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera are ruled out of this weekend’s tie. United will be also be without Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford, who are suspended;

“There are small things but nothing important. At this moment, Marcos Rojo is not training with the team, but Herrera is in the final phase of his recovery. Apart from them [and the suspended players], everyone is ready.”

Jose also added in his pre-match press conference that Phil Jones is “OK” now, having not featured since sustaining a hamstring injury against Tottenham last month.

Florian Lejeune [ACL knee] is the only confirmed injury absentee for Newcastle who travel to Palace on Saturday. Jonjo Shelvey and Jamal Lascelles have trained as normal and come into Rafa’s thinking.

Chelsea’s flight from Greece last night was cancelled and their re-scheduled flight left around 3:15am this morning, so their press conference will likely have been delayed somewhat – I don’t know if we’ll get it today now or tomorrow.

Will try to provide updates as and when they become available, but they might not be available if they re-schedule the press conference for tomorrow – which is a likely scenario now.

In the mean time, Pedro provided his own update on his injury last night;

Sarri said the following on it after their match against PAOK last night;

“I don’t know exactly the situation. I spoke for a few seconds, but that probably it is not a serious injury.”

BBC Sport report that everyone but Ivan Cavaleiro will be available for selection ahead of their clash against Man United.
